Love is Your Natural Resting State

A man with a good heart and keen insight once stated that romance is a young person’s game. A good precursor to having children but an immature response to intimate relationships, and anyone who entertains the notion of romance is ‘stuck in the daydream of a naïve 13 year old girl.’

Another man with a good heart and wide vision responded to his 14 year old son, who was falling in love, ‘First - if you are in love - that’s a fine thing a good thing that can happen to anyone. Don’t let anyone make it small or light to you.'

Second - There are several kinds of love. One is a selfish, mean, grasping, egotistical thing which uses love for self-importance. The other is an outpouring of everything good in you - of kindness and consideration and respect - not only the social respect of manners but the greater respect which is recognition of another person as unique and valuable. The first kind can make you sick and small and weak but the second can release in you strength, courage and goodness and even wisdom you didn’t know you had.

A woman with a good but tired heart, closed her eyes and left this world on a day that was predictable, due to the exact astrological transit. The textbook read, ‘During this time you will have a new feeling of freedom and excitement. You are seeking to escape from the everyday rut through a new love, and you probably will.’ According to his sister, Steve Jobs may have shared a similar experience, his final words before passing were:

Oh wow

Oh wow

Oh wow

To all those who don’t have eyes wide shut, romance may be horse play, but Steve sounds like a naïve 13 year old girl who just found that unicorn.
